Solid Small-Business Support
The Greenbrier Valley EDC recognizes the value of investing time and energy to help smaller businesses move forward with their objectives. In addition to our own local initiatives, we’ve partnered with a number of business support organizations like West Virginia’s Small Business Development Center, the WV Hive Network, Woodlands Development Group, and the Women’s Small Business Center for small business advising, planning, and technical assistance. The Country Roads Angel Network (CRAN) supports WV through the only accredited angel network in the state, providing early-stage funding for smart ideas.
Loans & Learning
We also offer a micro loan program for smaller business. Our team can also connect businesses with local workforce training programs through various agencies. The Greenbrier Valley EDC can connect you with all those resources and more.
Through this local program, companies, including startups, can borrow between $5,000 and $30,000 to cover the cost of working capital, machinery, equipment, inventory, supplies, furniture, and fixtures. Created to help entrepreneurs and businesses access funding that may not be available through traditional banking programs, these loans are intended to support the establishment of new businesses, create jobs, and help businesses expand.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and referred to the Greenbrier Valley EDC’s loan committee for approval. Find a complete application here, and contact us to learn more or talk through the process.
